Body Found in Elm Creek Rest Area: Hennepin County Sheriff's Office Investigating

Maple Grove, MN – The Hennepin County Sheriff announced late this afternoon that authorities are investigating after a body was discovered in a creek at the Elm Creek Rest Area in Maple Grove, Minnesota on Saturday afternoon.

At approximately 3:35 PM, Hennepin County Sheriff’s Water Patrol Deputies responded to a call reporting the presence of a body in the creek. A maintenance worker found the body and alerted the authorities. Emergency services, including the Maple Grove Fire Department, Maple Grove Police Department, and the Minnesota State Patrol, quickly arrived on the scene to assist.



The body, identified as an adult, was located in a holding pond within the area. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has taken custody of the body and will be responsible for making a formal identification and determining the cause of death.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the incident. Further details will be released as they become available.
