Two Separate Crashes Result in Travel Headaches for South Twin Cities Metro
APPLE VALLEY, MINNESOTA - According to the Minnesota State Patrol, around 9 AM on the morning of Monday, November 13, 2023, a multi-vehicle wreck occurred on northbound Cedar Avenue (Hwy 77) at Palomino Drive in Apple Valley, Minnesota.
The Minnesota State Patrol stated the crash was a chain reaction crash that involved five vehicles when traffic slowed on northbound Cedar Avenue at Palomino Drive. Minnesota State Patrol says no injuries were reported, and they could not confirm the claims of the squad car being on the side of the road, which was previously reported to us by someone involved in the crash. That person stated they saw a squad car parked on the side of the road, and traffic quickly became congested as people moved over for the squad. That was when they were hit from behind and the side.
EAGAN, MINNESOTA - Around 2:30 PM on Monday, November 13, 2023, a second crash occurred on Cedar Avenue (Hwy 77). This accident was in the southbound lanes of Cedar Avenue under the Hwy 13 bridge in Eagan, Minnesota. This single-vehicle rollover accident resulted in two people being transported to the local hospital. At this time, we do not know the extent of their injuries. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the cause of this accident is still under investigation. From the Minnesota Department of Transportation video, it appears the vehicle might have hit the impact attenuator that separated regular southbound traffic on Cedar Avenue from the bus lane.
