Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a person seen running over a cat with their car

BLOOMINGTON, MINNESOTA - In a post from the Bloomington Police Department, they are calling on the public's help in identifying the owner of a vehicle that was involved in the senseless and heinous act of killing a cat last month with their car. The event occurred on May 9, 2023, around 9:20 AM according to security footage provided to the Bloomington Police Department.

In the post from the Blooming Police Department, the owner of a newer black Kia Soul, the owner of the vehicle was seen placing a cat under the front passenger tire and running over the cat. The driver was then seen circling back and driving over the cat once more. The incident occurred near the intersection of 105th Street and Florida Avenue in Bloomington, Minnesota according to the Bloomington Police Department.

In the above image from the Bloomington Police Department, they state we are able to see the suspect the police say they are looking for. The Bloomington Police Department also provided two more photos of the suspect vehicle, which they again know to be a newer black Kia Soul.

June 13th Update

According to an update from the Bloomington Police Department, a "passerby" saw the deceased cat in the roadway on Florida Ave while they were driving and reported it to the police. Officers came and picked up the cat around 10:30 AM on June 9th and were told a neighboring business had video of the events that occurred. Animal Control officers came out and got a copy of the video and passed it along to Bloomington Police Department investigators. The police have confirmed they do not know if the driver of the vehicle is male or female.
